Replay Data Is Corrupt Would You Like to Try and Load Again

Decadent Files or Before Version

I am getting an error on ii files that were recorded a few days ago stating that it is a corrupt file or recorded using an earlier version. These are 2 big 45 infinitesimal files. Anyone else receive that error or accept a mode to solve it? I have already uninstalled and reinstalled Replay 360.

Thank you Alyssa, I tried the troubleshooting with no luck. They are saved to my local hard drive, as I work on that first then transfer once published.

Hi Jeremiah  - Have yous resolved your problem? The same thing is happening to me. I only take Replay (360) and never worked in a previous version. I, too, installed and reinstalled only to no avail. My 'decadent' Replay file is virtually 2 GB. The video is less than ten minutes long. A colleague produced the introductory part of the video and I recorded the balance using Replay 360. I besides added sound from an external file. The introductory video seems big to me. I am wondering if that is part of the problem.

Welcome, Dale! I'one thousand sorry yous're seeing that mistake, as well.

I took a peek at Jeremiah'southward instance and saw that my teammate, Gren, shared steps on how to recover videos from a corrupt .replay file:

  1. Download and install 7-Zip – a costless extraction tool
  2. Correct-click your Replay project file, whorl to 7-Zip, and choose Excerpt to <proper noun of your project>.
  3. A folder with the same name volition be created in the aforementioned location every bit your project file. But open information technology to see the extracted contents. (You won't be able to decipher or use some items.)
  4. Open the Replay binder and then the Media binder – your videos are stored there. You might need to change the file format for each video from *.bin to *.mpeg

Hello anybody,

I had the aforementioned problem. I created a project in Replay with a duration of ane.5 hours and 2.83 GB in size. On saving, information technology took many minutes to complete. Upon opening again, information technology pointed to an invalid/corrupted projection.

I tried to extract the .bin files in the replay/media folder. When renaming to mpeg however it shows only the sound. :(

I'm having the same problem, and I'm having it over and over once more. I've lost nearly 2 days of piece of work because of it. This is not the first time this has happened, but every other time the projects were so small that it wasn't such a big deal to just redo them. This fourth dimension, I've recreated the project three times. The very start fourth dimension, I saved the project, and so later tried to reopen it and got a message saying the file was decadent or created in an before version. I'm using Replay 360, and information technology's the latest version. Ugh! An It guy and I tried to figure out the problem, ran updates, uninstalled and then reinstalled the whole Clear Suite, just nevertheless no luck. Somewhen, I recreated the whole project, which took a very long time, and about five minutes earlier I was washed with information technology, a window popped up on my screen maxim Articulate Replay was stopping and closing down. Then it closed down. I lost the file completely, because I had been in the middle of recording something and hadn't had a chance to save information technology yet. The third time, I recreated the project again, but this time I WAS able to save it. So, well-nigh 5 minutes earlier I was done with the whole project, another bulletin popped up saying Articulate Replay was stopping and closing downwardly. Then information technology shut down. I tried to reopen my projection but got a message proverb the file was corrupt or created in another version.

What is wrong with this program? lt gives me nothing but problems, and I can't beget to waste any more time on this projection. This absolutely sucks. I'thousand so mad correct at present, I could throw my computer (which is loftier-powered and has 20 GB of RAM) through the window.

This has happened to me too. The Replay file size is 2675888 kB. I've also followed the advices above, and as Dave Gross described, a multiple times. I also got the same two error messages that Owen Holt pasted in his post.

At present I have followed the instructions from Katie Gokhshteyn and submitted a back up case (#01535366).

Aforementioned issue for me today. Working on a big project that involves several long video files of 30-52 minutes length. Troubleshooting steps failing me besides. My workaround (in instance it helps anyone else, was to publish the file get-go and salvage my MP4 separately. Every file I take saved in Replay will non reopen and returns the same message that it is corrupted or was created in an earlier version.

I'm sorry you've had such trouble with Replay courses condign decadent. What version of Replay are yous using?

Have yous as well checked that your Replay files are adhering to the guidelines here to forbid abuse within Articulate files?

So I was finally able to detect a workaround for these larger than 2 Gb files getting corrupted.  This fix results in an MP4 file that includes video & audio.  This process requires a plan to handle a .zip file (built into newer versions of windows) AND requires VLC Media Player which can be downloaded for free from videolan.org.

1. Outset, make a copy of your .replay file you desire to fix and then y'all don't damage the original file further

2. Rename the .replay file to .zippo

3. Open the .goose egg file and navigate to replay -> media

4. Copy out the .bin files you find inside of at that place to a new folder

5. Rename the .bin file to .avi

6. Open VLC Media Player and become to Tools -> Preferences -> Input / Codecs

7. Nigh the fourth section down is "Files" and you'll see a section that says "Damaged or Incomplete AVI File".  Change this setting to "Ever Gear up" and click Salvage

eight. Open the new AVI files you created in step five

9. From here yous can convert these files to mp4 by using "Convert/Save" under Media

  • Click add in the File Window and select your AVI files
  • Then at the bottom click the arrow adjacent to "Convert/Relieve" and select "Catechumen"
  • From here you'll want to select a conversion contour in the dropdown list.  I selected the first option "Video - H.264 +  MP3 (MP4)" and made some modifications.
    • To modify select the little gear icon, and then spring to the Audio Codec tab, and so change it to MP3 and change the bitrate to 320/kbps
  • From here y'all'll click browse at the bottom of the window to name your file.  The file blazon should be mp4 and I removed the .avi from the default file name
  • At this point, you can striking start.  You'll see this window minimize and the role player window appears (if not only click the VLC Actor icon in the taskbar).  You tin can picket the conversion progress by post-obit the time progressed in the lesser left of the histrion.  When it gets to the terminate and the timer disappears the conversion is done.
  • Congratulations!  You can at present notice your converted MP4 file with audio and video in the location you chose to save it.

I would too like to add that I only found one.bin, merely subsequently renaming it to .avi, I found that it contained both the screen capture and webcam video tracks, also as the audio rails. I also found that you can load this .avi file direct into Replay by clicking on the video icon if y'all want to go on working on it. All the tracks load correctly, no need to apply VLC to covert it to MP4.

Annotation: I had lost (due to a corrupted file) a 1.5hr lecture that I had recorded continuously (likely a bad idea in hind sight). The file was 6GB!!!

I know this is an old posting, but thank you!!  The corrupt file message did non make me happy. I appreciate the solution instead of having to contact someone.

I changed my *.bin files to *.mpeg and and then opened the biggest one in Replay using Video on the toolbar. All of my info popped dorsum upwards except for my Mix. That was a quick set.

I oasis't tried saving my Replay file yet -- I went straight to Publish.

Big shout out to Jacob and Patrick. I followed the steps from Jacob with the modification from Patrick and saved a stupid long recording and made my life amazing since I could not fall asleep worrying most this stupid projection. Out of 13 files I only had one practice this and of course information technology is the ane that is just over an hour. Thanks!

Hi together,
I've got the same issue. To get free space on my computer, I moved the .replay files to a network drive.
Now I took them dorsum to the same location every bit before, but can not open them. The bulletin is "file corrupt or created with an older replay version".

Shouldn't information technology exist possible to gear up this issue in a newer replay version? It has been reported for years now.

Any update on this 5+ year old issue? A fellow member of my Articulate Team is going through this on every replay file she creates and I can't open the file (and become the same error bulletin) regardless of how she shares with me. I advised saving as a local file rather than a shared or cloud bulldoze, no luck. Seeing multiple threads with this complaint, but no fix....delight advise as my poor co-worker is shattered to keep wasting hours of work with this result.

I have not experienced this issue in a while, but so again, I basically stopped using the program because it acquired so many problems. Occasionally, I'll exercise very curt recordings in Replay, but I do only about everything in Premiere.

OMG - this is driving me mad. I've spent over 2 days trying to get this program to work. I got 2 error letters (encounter below) the second after I clicked OK on the first message. I spent a farther couple of hours looking at online support and tried following every suggestion (there are no BIN files to convert, only MPEG files in the zipped folder) to set the consequence -  aught works. For goodness sake, take a 'DEEP DIVE' and take it offline - arrange your subscription costs, and put information technology out in that location on your notifications that this is an issue rather than waste matter everybody's time. In the concurrently, I will now take to purchase dissimilar software to do my work - incredible disappointed with Articulate.
